This Refund Policy explains our policies regarding refunds for UpNext DJ Host desktop application subscriptions and UpNext DJ mobile app in-app purchases. We strive to provide fair and transparent refund policies while maintaining the sustainability of our service.

1. Desktop App Subscriptions (Processed via Stripe)

1.1 Refund Eligibility

Refund eligibility varies based on your subscription type:

1.2 Monthly Subscription Refunds

Due to the low monthly cost and immediate access to all features, we do not offer refunds for monthly subscriptions. You may cancel your monthly subscription at any time, and you will retain access until the end of your current billing period.

1.3 Yearly Subscription Refunds

If you request a refund within 30 days of purchasing a yearly subscription, you will receive a pro-rated refund calculated as follows:

  • Full subscription amount ($99) minus the monthly rate ($9.99) for each full or partial month of use
  • Example: If you request a refund after 15 days, you will be charged for 1 month ($9.99) and refunded $89.01

Refund requests submitted after 30 days will not be eligible for refunds, but you may cancel to prevent future renewals.

1.4 Lifetime Purchase Refunds

Lifetime purchases are eligible for a full refund if requested within 14 days of purchase. After 14 days, lifetime purchases are non-refundable.

1.5 Exceptions

We reserve the right to deny refund requests in cases of:

  • Excessive or abusive refund requests
  • Violation of our Terms of Service
  • Fraudulent activity or chargebacks
  • Use of the service beyond the refund window before requesting a refund

2. Mobile App In-App Purchases (Processed via Apple App Store)

2.1 Vote Credits

In-app purchases for vote credits in the UpNext DJ mobile app are processed through the Apple App Store and are generally non-refundable. All refund requests for in-app purchases must be submitted directly to Apple.

2.2 How to Request a Refund from Apple

To request a refund for an in-app purchase:

  1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Locate the in-app purchase
  4. Select "Report a Problem" and follow the prompts

Apple's refund policies apply to all in-app purchases. We cannot process refunds for purchases made through the App Store.

3. How to Request a Refund (Desktop App)

3.1 Refund Request Process

  • Your full name
  • Email address associated with your subscription
  • Subscription type (Monthly, Yearly, or Lifetime)

3.2 Processing Time

Refund requests are typically processed within 5-7 business days. Once approved, refunds will be issued to your original payment method within:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: 5-10 business days
  • Other Payment Methods: Varies by payment provider

3.3 Notification

You will receive an email confirmation once your refund request has been processed, whether approved or denied. If denied, we will provide a clear explanation.

4. Cancellation vs. Refund

4.1 Cancellation

Cancelling your subscription stops future billing but does not automatically trigger a refund. You will retain access to the service until the end of your current billing period.

To cancel your subscription:

  • Log into the UpNext DJ Host desktop app
  • Go to Settings > Subscription
  • Click "Cancel Subscription"

4.2 When to Cancel vs. Request a Refund

  • Cancel: If you want to stop future charges but continue using the service until the end of your current billing period
  • Request Refund: If you qualify for a refund under this policy and want to receive money back for your purchase

5. Account Termination and Refunds

If your account is terminated by UpNext DJ for violation of our Terms of Service, you will not be eligible for a refund of any kind.

If you voluntarily delete your account, standard refund policies apply based on your subscription type and how long ago you purchased it.

6. Service Changes and Refunds

If we make significant changes to the service that materially reduce functionality or features, we may offer pro-rated refunds on a case-by-case basis. We will notify you of such changes at least 30 days in advance.

7. Technical Issues

If you experience technical issues that prevent you from using the service, please contact customer support before requesting a refund. We will make every effort to resolve technical problems. If we cannot resolve the issue within a reasonable timeframe, we may offer a refund at our discretion.

8. Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback with your payment provider instead of contacting us for a refund, we reserve the right to:

  • Immediately suspend or terminate your account
  • Deny any future refund requests
  • Take legal action to recover costs associated with the chargeback

9. Promotional Offers and Discounts

If you purchase a subscription using a promotional code or discount, refund amounts will be based on the actual amount paid, not the regular subscription price.

10. Currency and Exchange Rates

All subscriptions are priced in USD. If you paid in a different currency, refunds will be processed in the original currency you paid. Exchange rate fluctuations may result in a slightly different amount than originally charged.

11. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified policy. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
